PETER KREVENETS | WEB DEVELOPER

My name is Peter and I'm a professional freelance translator discovering the world of coding. It's a large world with lots to learn, but for now my favourite language is definitely JavaScript, especially AngularJS and ReactJS.

To enjoy life even more I dabble in sports, travelling, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and playing videogames.

Title:

Stephen King Tribute Page

Description:

This was a freeCodeCamp task. At first I didn't know how to approach it, and simply copying an example was not much of a challenge. Then one day I saw this nice sliding animation and something clicked - finally there was this interesting thing I wanted to try.

As for why I decided to dedicate this page to Stephen King - in my teens I read so many of his books that it was no choice at all.

Random Quote Machine

Description:

Another task from FreeCodeCamp. When I first saw an example for this task I was very impressed because that was how I would have done it - what else was there to add? Eventually I managed to spice things up a little, although it's still clear what was the inspiration for my design.

Weather App

Description:

I saw a really cool simplistic quote generator by a fellow coder from FreeCodeCamp, and it inspired me to try and make something simple and yet nice to look at. The idea was to use 3D-transform and to show a little more weather data than was originally required.

Wikipedia Viewer

Description:

For this FreeCodeCamp task I wanted something special, so I looked to material design. Also wanted to try ReactJS a bit more and so used it more extensively. At first this app looked very bland and only after several days of continuous brainstorming I came upon this idea of the animated list. Hope you like it.

Twitch.tv

Description:

Thanks to this project I discovered how important it is to finish soon. I spent too much time adding new features and removing them, changing design and introducing new problems only to solve them later. And yet in the end I'm very happy, because I managed to accomplish everything and learned a whole bunch of things along the way.
